Jim was born in Fremont, Michigan, in 1948. Upon graduation from high school in 1966, he married his wife Bonnie and enlisted in the United States Navy. He served his country for fifteen years, attaining the rank of Chief Petty Officer.
Both Jim and Bonnie were saved in Orange Park, Florida, in 1977. Soon after coming to know the Lord as Savior, Jim felt the call to serve the Lord and enrolled in Bible College to prepare for the ministry. He served as Assistant Pastor at Clay Baptist Temple from 1980 to 1985. They pastored Calvary Baptist Church in Manning-ton, West Virginia for nine years and Harvest Baptist Church in Hagerstown, Maryland for twenty-five years. He recently retired from the pastorate in February 2022. The Moore’s have two children and six grandchildren.

Jim has been on the board of Baptist Missions to Forgotten Peoples for 32 years and has developed a true heart for missionaries. While pastoring, he and his wife made yearly trips to missions fields in Europe and Can-ada and the Lord continued to increase their burden. After retirement, the Moore’s felt the Lord leading them to a very unique field of ministry, that of ministering to missionaries. In June, 2022 they attended and graduated from BMFP’s candidate school and are presently raising support for a work fund to help with travel expenses. Their burden is to help and encourage missionaries to keep them on the field, as well as recruit in Bible Colleges, and preach missions conferences.

The Lord has given Jim and Bonnie a heart for the military, due to their time in the Navy, as well as first hand experience of the difficulties encountered in the foreign field as they spent three years in Iceland during their time in the service. The Lord has directed every step in their ministry to be a help and encouragement in their new direction.

The Moore’s currently live in Martinsburg, West Virginia. They are active in Faith Baptist Church in Martins-burg which is their sending church, and take an active part in the ministries there when home.
