• History of our mission work in Moldova:

In the fall of 2002 Emily and I received a call from the Lord to serve as church planting missionaries to the people of Moldova, a small country located between the Ukraine and Romania in Eastern Europe. We spent 18 months traveling and presenting our burden to churches and Christians throughout the U.S. and Canada seeking others who could partner with us and help sustain the missionary work through prayer and financial support. Our family arrived in Moldova in spring 2004 and focused on learning the language and culture while also helping a struggling village church and a large evangelistic camp ministry. In 2007 we moved to take the lead in planting Maranatha Baptist Church of Hincesti, Moldova. Year by year the small church family has grown both in number and in their faith in the Lord. We have led the church’s ministries to focus on evangelism and making disciples through children’s Sunday school, day camps, youth ministries, missions outreach, ladies discipleship and men’s discipleship programs. From the beginning the church met in many different places including a kindergarten, small houses, and even an old bar/cafe. We learned to trust God to provide a church building and He has helped us buy land and construct a church in Hincesti step by step. In 2012, we were able to move in after finishing a couple small rooms and kept on building as God provided. In 2022 the main auditorium was completed through special donations from within Moldova. The raising up of the church has been done through faith in God’s power to build His church and we have strived to be found faithful in the work of a missionary and pastor.
